Thomas Hayes Schumpert joined Educational Services of America, Inc. in as the Edscholar Program Director in 2002, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors for ESA.

He was employed as an educator and coach at Central High School for 17 years, was appointed as Business Manager of the Knox County School System in 1977 and as Assistant Superintendent of Business Affairs from 1981. Mr. Schumpert was elected as Knox County Trustee in 1990 and as Knox County Executive from 1994-1998.

Mr. Schumpert holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a member of the YMCA Board of Directors, former Chairman of the Legacy Park Foundation, a Board Member of the Sunrise Foundation, a member of the Knoxville Leadership Class of 1993, and co-Chairman of the Public Trust PAC.
