Job Description:
Emily is responsible for working with schools throughout the northern and western counties of Tennessee. Her presentation, "Planning for After High School," is geared toward juniors and seniors and covers choosing the right career, the admissions process, and the financial aid process. She offers assistance in training school administrators, faculty, and staff on the Tennessee College and Career Planning System and helping students get started with using the career assessments. She makes students aware of eCampusTours.com, which is a virtual tour website that allows students to virtually visit over 1200 schools across the whole country. Free college and career planning materials can be ordered for Tennessee students by contacting Emily directly.
Work Experience:
Emily joined the Student Outreach Services team in the summer of 2007, where she continues to work with many of the same school counselors that she served in her former position of Assistant Director of Admissions at Lambuth University. During her time at Lambuth she covered a number of territories, including West Tennessee, East Tennessee, Alabama, and Arkansas, and she also planned Scholarship Days and Open House events, and the Jackson Area Wide College Fair. The experience Emily has gained in her previous work in assisting students through the admissions and financial aid processes make her an outstanding resource for the SOS team, as well as for the students and counselors of West Tennessee.
About Emily:
Originally from Bartlett, TN, Emily moved to Jackson in August of 2001. She enjoys working on her new home, playing with her dog Minnie, and spending time with friends and family. Some of her favorite hobbies include cooking and entertaining friends.
